Health Equity and the technology product lifecycle

Various interventions at each step of innovation can contribute to achieving greater health equity. Examples include setting Target Product Profiles that signal technology developers to bring to market affordable products; engaging the target population through participatory design and local capacity building; making the research results open access; applying financing approaches that scale access to the end-products; and measuring and holding accountable the impact of R&D through a health equity lens.
